Description
The Chance Group of companies works in the agrochemical industry: it produces plant protection products. GC products are distinguished by their quality and efficiency, which causes their high cost. There is no mandatory labeling for this product category. At the same time, the client independently felt the need for transparent internal logistics and protection against counterfeiting. And as a result, I implemented voluntary labeling using TraceWay max.
Tasks
The project consisted of two stages.
At the first stage, we had to introduce labeling and traceability, respectively, to make internal logistics transparent. The client had the opportunity to find out what operations with the products were performed, by whom and when.
For example, which of the employees moved the pallet to the warehouse, how much time passed from the exit from the conveyor to the transfer to the warehouse, how many units of products were produced within the batch.
Such data helps to analyze processes, eliminate deficiencies in them and monitor the availability of products on the company's sites online.
At the second stage, we needed to provide customers with the opportunity to distinguish counterfeit products from the original by scanning the labeling codes.
Marking
We started labeling products by serializing each unit right on the assembly line. To do this, printing equipment and a camera were installed on the line to check the quality of marking codes. The TraceWay max system has been configured on the server.
The marking codes for the customer are issued by the TraceWay central server, which also ensures their uniqueness and protection against counterfeiting.
Thanks to TraceWay max, there are no two identical packages with the products of Chance Group. Each has its own unique number and history of operations.
Further, to reduce labor costs, we implemented aggregation. When placing products in boxes, codes are scanned on products and boxes, when laying boxes on a pallet — on boxes and a pallet. That is, nested codes are assigned to each group code. Therefore, in order to record the movement of the batch to the warehouse in the system, it is required to scan only the pallet codes.
Traceability
Warehouse operations are performed using a data collection terminal: a specialist selects the desired menu item under his account, for example, moving, and scans the pallet codes.
At this point, the system changes the data for all package codes that are on the pallet. The following is recorded in the history of operations for them: at N hours N minutes, an employee N at the production facility N moved the codes in the direction of another production facility N. Until the codes are accepted at another facility, their status will reflect "relocation" and other operations with them will be temporarily unavailable.
This is how we collect complete information about all manufactured products and every operation with them, up to shipment to the buyer.
Therefore, at any time you can view the entire history of each unit or statistics on the batch of products. In addition, TraceWay max always reflects the actual stock of products.
Authentication protection
To protect against counterfeiting, we have installed a special software module for determining authenticity. On the one hand, the module accumulates detailed data on all manufactured products, including the marking code, name, release date, batch number and others. When checking, the user sees this data.
On the other hand, it collects data about each product check: location, IP address of the device, and so on. Based on this data, the module detects suspicious activity, makes a conclusion about authenticity and sends alarm messages to the Chance Group of Companies if it detects a fake.
The module has a protocol for connecting a mobile application to it. It is important that the authentication interface is not built into a third-party application, but into the official one from Chance Group of Companies."
In addition to the mobile application, an official website, a short number for sending SMS and a contact center can be connected to the module.
By scanning the unique marking code on the product packaging, the buyer gets the opportunity not only to determine the authenticity, but also to get the most useful information about the product.
